Firmware Update

Firmware Upgrade using Topology

Upgrade the Mesh Station via Topology from the Mesh Manager

Note: After each firmware upgrade, each unit needs to be rebooted. In order to save time on upgrading the entire mesh network, it is best to upgrade the mesh station that is the farthest away first, and then work your way up. The mesh manager unit should be upgraded last.

Step 1. Login to the Mesh Manager unit.

Step 2. Go to Topology.

Step 2. Select the MeshAP Station for Firmware Update.

Step 3. Go to Status under the AP section; check the current firmware version/build date.

Step 4. Go to Administration, Click on the Firmware Update link.

Step 5. Enter a temporary IP Address. This address must be able to be reached from the mesh network.

Once the IP Address is entered, Click the Enable button to activate the IP address for the firmware update.

Step 6. Once the temporary IP is established, the text in the field will change colors and become Green

The Firmware Update menu will also be available at the bottom of the interface.

Step 7. Click Browse to select the firmware image file for the update.

Once the file has been selected, Click the Upgrade button to begin the update.

Note: An Information popup will remind users not to power off nor rest the unit during the firmware update. This may cause an incomplete firmware update.

Step 8. A Login Pop-up will be shown. This is needed for you to login to the remote MeshAP unit for Firmware update. Enter the Username, and Password and click “OK”

Once you login, a Warning Pop-up will remind users to not turn off power, and reset the unit during the Firmware update process.

The configuration and setting for the unit will still be kept after the firmware update. There is no need to reconfigure the setting.

The Firmware Update will automatically begin after Clicking “OK” on the Pop-up screen.

Step 8. Once the screen below is shown, the firmware has been upgraded successfully. It takes about 20-30 seconds for the unit to reboot and be ready for use.

Click on the Status tab on the AP section to make sure the firmware version is correct. (Re-login to the unit may be required.)
