Providing wireless internet access to schools and college campuses is now more important than ever.  With ArrowSpan’s wireless mesh technology, students and educators from K-12 all the way  up to college level, can access e-mail, network files and  surf the internet no matter where they are on campus.  As a result, learning becomes easier because students and teachers now have access to more educational materials.  Wiring an entire campus can be very expensive and a big hassle, that is why ArrowSpan's Wi-Fi mesh access points are ideal. The MeshAP units are able to provide internet access throughout the campus (indoor and outdoor environments), including on campus housing, for a fraction of the cost.

ArrowSpan’s  wireless mesh infrastructure is a fast intelligence Access Point. MeshAPs are built of peer radio devices that don't have to be cabled to a wired port like traditional WLAN access points (AP). Rather, each simply plugs into an AC power supply. It automatically self-configures and communicates with other nodes over the air to determine the most efficient multi-hop transmission path. As a new bandwidth connection is added, each MeshAP node dynamically adjusts the routing path to maximize the performance and efficiency of the data traffic. The MeshAP nodes also are designed to auto-configure, so once the power is on, the node automatically configures itself to operate within a mesh network. This enables users to expand already existing networks quickly. The MeshAP access points also have auto-healing capability. If interruption occurs with one node,  the MeshAPs automatically heal the wireless mesh network, by routing the data traffic to other available MeshAP nodes in the area, thus reducing maintenance and management needs from an actual person.

Compatible with existing wired infrastructure, access and application servers

ArrowSpan's MeshAP Series Access Points are designed with the Layer 2 fast packet switching technology. This technology enables traffic to travel under a bridge mode. There is no alteration of the data traffic when they reach the destination across the mesh network. Each MeshAP node simply passes through all the data traffic, to the clients and the next nodes. The Layer 2 fast packet switching technology, also makes it highly compatible with other network devices like routers, gateways, access servers, and other application servers.
